Artists like Ourselves is a community for anyone to share themselves through their art, whether it be visually, written or musically. You can freely express yourself here. We’re contemplating different ideas to allow you to sell your art, if you’d like to earn some money with your creations, let us know, we’ll let you know as soon as we decide how

How it works:

We currently only allow you to upload .JPG images for visual art, .MP3 files for audio art and regular .TXT files you would create in notepad. (No Word documents)

You may not upload any content which you do not own - we do not want anyone else's copyright art to be uploaded to the site (other than your own copyrighted or non copyrighted art).

When you upload a file, you are then able to edit the vital statistics for your piece - a title, a description and in the case of images the format, size etc.

When an administrator logs in they see all new files that have been uploaded and with a simple click of the mouse, the files are "Validated" so that everyone in the world can see them. Your picture, poem, sculpture or painting will then appear automatically on the main page!

We use the "Validation" method so that nobody uploads pornographic, distasteful, copyright or otherwise offensive content.

When uploading a file, you (a)select the file from your hard drive (b) select the type of file that it is a painting, drawing, sculpture etc (c) optionally select an .AVI or .MP3 sound bite file you have recorded so that users can listen to your thoughts on your own piece.

All you have to do to start being seen is to sign up so we have your email and other info, including a charity of your choice. After signing up you’ll also be able to leave comments to other artists about their work.

Credits:

Artists like Ourselves uses a 'credits' system to promote expression of both art and the artists' opinion of others' art. When you sign up, you are given 50 credits immediately. Each time you upload a picture, painting, musical piece, poem etc you are charged 10 credits.

This means that you are able to upload 5 pieces immediately.

To earn extra credits, you can send feedback to other artists about their work. Each time you send a comment to another artist, you earn two credits.
